Before you book a ticket, please check rules of your carrier. Below, you can find exemplary situation that might happen when travelling with a pet.
Not every air line allows transport of animals. Easy Jet and Wizz Air are 2 that not allow animals to travel on their boards. Also costs are different at different air lines. Some charge it as excess baggage (e.g. 20 EUR for every kilogram), others have fixed stakes like 50 EUR for one way trip. The number of animals allowed to be transported one way may be limited.
Also in case of travelling by train, a pet should have special ticket. A ticket to a dog can be bought in a box office. The cost of a ticket for a pet is twice lower than a full ticket price. Additionally, you have to book a whole compartment. PKP introduced such rules to provide higher comfort for passengers.
Coach carriers also have different rules in this matter – some do not charge any additional costs, other require buying a full price ticket. Please check at particular carrier. There are different rules obligatory for travelling with pets. You must be prepared for necessity of putting your pat into a travel cage, which has to be big enough to enable free moves of your pet. If you travel with a dog, remember it has to wear a muzzle and be on a leash.
