It is possible to rent a car in Warsaw. In Poland, there are many companies that offer renting various types of cars. A car can be rented only by the person who has a valid in Poland driving licence. Other conditions are set by companies themselves e.g. the minimum age limit of a person renting a car (usually 21), the obligation of leaving the car in the guarded car park; two types of price lists - seasonal and standard, the amount of the deposit (paid in cash or by a credit card). The price of the rental is lower if one rents a car for a longer period of time. In case of travels to a foreign country, one should discuss the details with the rental company. Foreigners are often asked to present their passport and the credit card, in addition to the driving licence.

NOTICE! Before renting a car one should ask about the details of the insurance and make sure whether the company imposes any limitations concerning the mileage. Bikes
Warsaw still cannot be called a bike-friendly city. Fortunately the situation is changing –there are more and more bicycle lanes and racks in the city.
The lanes are marked with a blue colour. The lanes are designed for bikes but very often there are cars parked there and the lanes are also used by pedestrians. If you are crossing the street use the bike lane, if there is no such lane you are not allowed to ride a bike on the crossing and you have to lead the bike across the streat. When you ride the bike after the dusk, then you should remember about a proper lightning (according to the directive a bike should be equipped with a white light in front of it, and the red one at the back - the blinking back light is also allowed). A 37km Vistula Route that goes along the North to South axis of the river is particularly recommended.
Those who do not have their own bike, can rent one:
- Local Rent a Car; the price depends on the type of a bike, and the price range is:14-22 EUR/day In case of renting a bike for 2-5days the price drops to 10-18EUR/day The company delivers the bikes to any of the hotels in Warsaw, free of charge. - Bike Rental of Prague "Pedal with Prague" (Praska Wypożyczalnia Rowerów „Kołuj z Pragą”): one can rent a bike free of charge; the rental operates only during the summer holidays (until 15th of September). In order to keep the bike overnight, one has to pay a 50PLN deposit and his ID; the rental is located in the old building of the Koneser Vodka manufacturing company, which is also worth visiting.
- A Comfortable Bike (Wygodny Rower): mainly city bikes; the price is 36PLN a day, meaning during the hours the company operates. A day (24h from the moment of renting): 40PLN.
