You can make a transfer at the bank office in person. You should have your ID card and ATM card. You should give your full account number and consignee’s data. All account numbers in Poland meet IBAN standard and are composed of 26 digits, in front of which country mark is placed (PL in this case). Also in case of accounts from outside EU, IBAN number should be known.
Bank transfers are usually chargeable – from 2,5 PLN up to 10 PLN (in case of transfers to Polish accounts). Online transfers are cheaper. In most banks such service is free of charge or it is not very expensive, e.g. 0,50 or 1 PLN. In order to use such service, you have to have online access activated. If a consignee has his or her account in the same bank, the money should be received even a few seconds later. Transfers to other banks are usually realized within one working day.
In case of international transfers, we have to know SWIFT code of consignee's bank. A cost of an international transfer amounts to dozens of PLN but it is also dependent on the sum that is being transferred. However, if such sum is rather low, the cost of the transfer can even constitute to major part of it. If you are a consignee of an international transfer, the payer has to know your bank’s SWIFT code and your IBAN number.
