Translations can be divided into standard (pol. zwykłe) and sworn (pol. przysięgłe). Each type can be written or oral.
A normal (standard) translation is a service provided by people who do not have to be graduates of specific languages studies but they just have a proper knowledge of that language. If you need a translation for your own use, you can use standard translation services. They are cheaper than sworn ones. Also a native speaker of that language who also speaks Polish can do such translation.
NOTE! Not every official situation requires sworn translations.
In many situations, there is only a need to have a proper communication with a foreigner. In such case, a person with a decent knowledge of the language should suffice. There are many non-governmental organizations, e.g. Welcome Centre in Warsaw, that offer assistance in translations in offices.
