Although, there are still some old trams and buses in Warsaw with high steps, there are more and more vehicles that are disability, elderly and wheelchair-friendly. The most conveniences for the disabled are located in those buses and trams with hydraulics. They are marked with a frame on the timetables. They are equipped with a platform that makes it easier to put a wheelchair in the bus.
The platform is situated by the middle door of the bus. A passenger should signal the driver the need of using the platform. In order to do so, he has to push the button which is situated on or by the door of the bus, as well as inside the bus, in the place that was designed for wheelchairs. Those buttons are marked with a wheelchair sign, similarly marked is the space that was designed for wheelchairs and the disabled people. There are some belts there that help to stabilize the wheelchair. In case of the underground, one can use the lift that stops on the level of platforms as well as on the ground level.
