(Przesyłki konduktorskie)
In Poland, a train may serve as a courier. This is an official service. Przesyłki konduktorskie are transported in railway network in the trains marked in the schedule /timetable/ with a letter "K". The place of posting and issuing the items in a train is marked with the sign "Przesyłki konduktorskie”.
The mass of the consignment may not exceed 10 kg and its maximum dimensions are 20x40x50 cm, in the case of a roll: 150 cm x 20 cm in diameter. The maximum value of the consignment cannot exceed the value of the shipment fare by 40-times /of the shipment fare. The package must be described, the data should include the name, full address (including the telephone number) of the recipient and the sender, the name of the positing and destination station and the content of the consignment should be defined. Posting and receiving shipments is done directly on the train or by stationary points of the shipping clearance located at railway stations. Based on the order receipt these points receive consignment from the train instead of the customer.
Such order can be made by both the sender and the receiver. Shipping fee is 25 PLN. The service of posting or receiving the consignment from the train instead of the customer is charged an additional fee of 10 PLN. Be aware that a conductor may refuse to accept the consignment, if the sender does not have exact amount of money.
