Graduates of the secondary school can apply for enrolling to the first class of post-secondary schools. About candidates The criteria of acceptance are stated in the school statute and usually takes into account Polish classes marks and three other, chosen compulsory subjects, other pupil’s achievements mentioned in the certificate of graduating from the secondary school and junior high school exam results.
The foreigner who did not graduated from the junior high school in Poland, must hold the certificate or other legal document stating finishing the school abroad which authorizes for taking up further education in the country of its issuance. This document must be regarded equivalent for Polish certificate of leaving the relevant school. Moreover, the foreigner must present a doctor's certificate, stating the lack of contraindications for taking the education up in the given type of school. – The regulation of the Minister of National Education from 4 October 2001 of accepting persons not being Polish citizens to public nursery schools, schools, units of teacher education and other institutions (Journal of Laws from 2001 No. 131, pos. 1458)
If the foreigner cannot present required certificates as well as when enrolling to the school is held on the basis of the qualification procedure, he is accepted to the appropriate class and to the appropriate semester on the basis of conducted examination, test or other conditions determined by the school.
Art. 94a sec.1 act from 7 September 1991 about the educational system:
„Persons not being Polish citizens are learning and using the care at public nursery schools, and being liable to a school duty are learning and the care at public primary schools, junior high schools, public artistic schools and other institutions on conditions concerning Polish citizens.”
