The necessary documents for concluding a contract for the supply of telecommunications services

In the case of a legal person, who is not a citizen of Poland, the set of documents necessary to conclude a contract for the supply of telecommunications services, as a part of the license (mobile phone and the mobile Internet), usually are as following:

  1. passport or the ID issued in the EU
  2. the permanent residence permit - that document has to contain the Polish address and has to be valid throughout the contract.
  3. one of the following:
  • work permit
  • valid credit card (convex, issued by a Polish bank)
  • minimum two paid bills, with the name and the address printed on them
  • current mobile phone bill or an invoice with a zero balance (personal details of the client on the receipt/invoice have to be the same as those on the residence permit)
  • current landline telephone bill or an invoice with a zero balance (personal details of the client on the receipt/invoice have to be the same as those on the residence permit)
  • current electricity bill, gas bill or an invoice with a zero balance (personal details of the client on the receipt/invoice have to be the same as those on the residence permit)
  • current cable TV bill or an invoice with a zero balance (personal details of the client on the receipt/invoice have to be the same as those on the residence permit)
  • current bill for the Internet or an invoice with a zero balance (personal details of the client on the receipt/invoice have to be the same as those on the residence permit)

If you want to install a landline telephone or the landline Internet in the apartment you use, then you have to submit a few additional documents: registered property right, co-operative member's right of the ownership of a living accommodation or a lease agreement.

That set of documents may slightly differ, depending on the provider and the status of the foreigner, for instance a foreign student may be asked to present his student card. However, usually the required documents are only passport and the residence permit.

One does not have to present any documents when buying a pre-paid phone, unless it is a special offer. For instance the Zetafon special offer (by Orange operator), where you can buy a phone for 1 PLN, which is connected with maintaining a favourable balance for a certain time, e.g. 36 months. So buying a phone for 1 PLN, regardless of the operator, is usually connected with payment in instalments requires a positive balance in the account for the period specified in the contract.
