When somebody goes shopping to Poland, he should consider doing that in the shops that are situated in the duty-free zone. It may be favourable both for Polish citizens as well as those from the other EU member states, and other foreigners. It is so, because the Polish goods sold there are exempt from the value added tax and the imported goods are exempted from duty.
Duty-free zones can be found on the ferries cruising outside the EU, international airports and frontier posts. On the airports, those shops are available only for the customers who are leaving the country. Even more satisfied are the customers flying out of the Schengen Zone - the prices of tobacco and the alcohol are much lower for them.
