Mobile phone service covers the whole Poland. Mobile phone operators in Poland are: Era, Heyah, Orange, Plus, and Play. Those operators offer both licences and pre-paid.
Mobile phone and the license
When one decides to choose the license, in the beginning one can use free minutes (which vary depending on the license), and when one runs out of them, then one will be charged for the next text messages and calls and the costs will be add to the monthly bill. The positive aspect of the license is that you never run out of resources to make a call to somebody who uses services of the same operator, to people using services of other operators, or make an international call. The negative aspect of the contract is a fact that it lasts at least 12 months and one has to pay monthly bills, regardless of a number of calls made a month. In order to use license service, one has to conclude a contract for the supply of telecommunications services. The documents required to do so, were mentioned above.

Pre-paid mobile phones
In case of using mobile phones, one can also choose to use a pre-paid phone. It is the solution for the people who cannot or do not want to be involved in any contracts, and who need a phone just to stay in touch and not necessarily talk over the phone for hours. In order to use this option, one has to buy a phone (a device), e.g. in one of the stations of any of the operators and also buy a so-called starting set (some of which are free, usually ordered on the Internet), and after activating the number, which normally means making the first call, one has to prepay it according to the operators directives, or, more often, in case when the phone runs out of resources.
For instance, Orange operator offers Orange Go tariff. Using it, one can prepay the phone with 5,10, 25, 50 and 100 PLN. In case of 50 PLN prepayment, which makes your number active for 3 month (you can call other people and answer income calls), a one minute of call inside the telephone network to landline telephone and to other networks costs 0.29 PLN. A text messages, inside the network, costs 0.05 PLN and 0.18 PLN to other networks, but e.g. in case of 100 PLN prepayment, the price.
