In case of pre-paid phones, basically regardless of the operator, there are few rules that are worth remembering.
- The common rule, applied basically by all the operators refers to distinguishing the rates of outgoing calls and text messages inside the network (perhaps as well as calls to landline telephones) and the second group being calls to other networks. Calls and text messages inside the network are always cheaper than those made to other networks. The difference in prices may be significant, e.g. a text message (for pre-paid Orange Go, on condition of a 100 PLN prepayment) costs 0.01 PLN inside the network, whereas it costs 0.18 PLN to other networks. So it is worth buying starting sets of the same operator in a group of friends.
- In case of pre-paid phones the rule is also that the higher the prepayment is, the lower the rates are for the outgoing calls and text messages, and the number is active for outgoing and incoming calls for a longer period of time. The example of which may be the New Orange Go tariff of Orange operator.
- Running out of resources means that until one prepays, one will not be able to make outgoing calls but one will be able to receive calls even for another year. Even if you run out of resources you will still be able to dial 112 in an emergency (free of charge).
- It is worth reading the network's text messages. In case of pre-paid phones, those messages often concern new special offers related to the prepayment. Usually those offers are about getting some extra resources after the prepayment or some free minutes and text messages, received by the people who prepay with a specified amount of money in a specified time and manner (e.g. by sending the unused prepayment code, worth 25PLN, to a specified number, until, for example, 20th of May, etc.).
