Crossing the border of Poland

ATTENTION!
Having a visa does not guarantee one’s entry to the territory of Poland. It is the border guards who decide about our every entry. When we are entering Poland, the border guards can control our travel documents and visa, in order to check the foreigner’s travel aim, insurance and financial resources.

ATTENTION!
The duty to show his financial resources or documents that confirm his ability to obtain such resources legally, does not concern the foreigners who cross the border on the basis of a, among others, repatriation visa, visa obtained in order to perform a job, stay card, or a visa obtained in order to receive entitlements that are the outcome of having the Card of the Pole.

Border guards can make a decision to refuse to let the foreigner enter Schengen territory, have him leave the country, annul a visa, as well as apply for a decision granting the foreigner enter the territory of RP, even if one does not meet the conditions.

In consequence of abolishing the border control on the internal EU border, the mobile actions of border guards became more active in the cross-border area, as well as on the whole territory of a country. The border guards’ responsibility is to, among others, seasonally or systematically control public places, where the illegal immigrants often gather, in order to check the legality of their stay, employment and business activities.

Small border traffic

The documents needed to receive an SBT permission:

  • An SBT application with a valid photography, filled in with Latin alphabet
  • A photocopy of a foreign passport (page with a photography), passport to submit for inspection
  • A photocopy of a domestic passport, pages with photo and entries concerning one’s residence
  • In case of an unclear entry in one’s passport, there is needed an OWIR certificate concerning his/her residence
