International maturity examination (International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program) is a part of the International Baccalaureate educational program. It is 2-year school curriculum on the level of the comprehensive secondary high school, usually written in a foreign language, finished with the maturity examination. 2050 schools from 125 countries are taking part in this program. There are 9 such schools in Poland
The IB diploma is honoured and regarded prestigious at many colleges worldwide. However, having this diploma does not provide the graduate with the place at many prestigious colleges/universities in the world without the examination, and is treated as equivalent examination paper with English A-level.
The secondary-school graduation program in the IB system lasts two years (in Poland pupils after the first class of the comprehensive secondary school can begin it), it consists of six subject, the essay and the course in the theory knowledge (Theory of Knowledge). Courses are held in French, Spanish or English, in this language also maturity examination is being passed (with the exception of language examinations).
