Investment funds are a popular method of investing. Stock funds are the most risky ones but they may bring the highest profits. They are worth being considered if you plan long-term investments (at least for 5 years). Less risky funds include: securities funds, currency market funds, bonds funds and stable growth funds. They are also risk related but to a smaller extent than in the case of stock funds. Furthermore, they offer higher profits than investments.
Principle of operation of investment funds is based on the placement of equity participants in appropriately selected financial instruments (e.g. shares, bonds, securities). One just needs to buy units, requiring investing even small amounts of funds. It is possible to buy them in banks or in investment funds companies. In most cases, commission is charged for buying and selling units. Sometimes, one can encounter promotions in such companies. Such commissions are not charged by the Supermarket of Investment Funds, run by mBank.
Investment funds can bring higher profits than a standard investment. It is worth choosing a fund that guarantees 100% capital return. In such case, we only risk lack of profits but the entire capital invested is safe.
Investment fund units can be bought by a foreigner if he or she is:
- a natural person not living in Poland
- a legal person not having a seat in Poland
- an other object not having a seat in Poland
